Abusive relationships
No one should feel pressured to do things they don't want to, or feel trapped in a relationship. It can be confusing if it feels like a loving relationship - but only if you behave a certain way. If you feel scared or controlled it's an abusive relationship.
They might try to isolate you from family and friends as it's easier to control you that way. As they gain power and control, they might threaten you or friends if you don't do what they want.
If this is happening, speak to someone you trust.
Signs to look out for:
-
Controlling behaviour, like telling you where you can go and what you can wear.
-
Online abuse, like threatening to post personal pictures.
-
Snooping on messages.
-
Making you do something sexual when you don’t want to.
-
Violence.
