If you are a young person in the North East aged between 11-25 years, and identify as LGBT+ we provide friendly and practical support around gender identity and/or sexual orientation. This includes the opportunity to meet other LGBT+ young people.

The school nursing service have a confidential text messaging service " Chathealth" available for young people form the age of 11 - 19 years . We provide information , advice and support for children and young people.

Waythrough

Support to 11-25 year olds who are struggling with sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

  • One to one appointments which are tailored around the individual’s needs.
  • Family support for both the young person and their family to help develop understanding and improve communication.
  • Peer support groups which are held weekly to encourage socialisation and reduce isolation.
  • Parent support groups, to support those who have LGBT+ young people under their care.
