Hand Foot and Mouth is a common childhood illness, caused by a virus called Coxsackie. It is usually a mild infection that does not need specific treatment and will usually get better on its own.

Measles is a virus which can spread very easily and can cause serious health problems. The early signs are cold-like symptoms. A few days later a rash may develop. Typically the rash starts behind the ears and spreads over the whole body. There can be white spots inside the mouth.

Advice for parents/carers

Meningitis is an infection of the protective membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord (meninges). It can affect anyone, but is most common in babies, young children, teenagers and young adults.
